We don’t have to do this sh*t alone.
Long-time friends, authors, and advocates Claire Bidwell Smith, Kelle Hampton and Tamara Taggart invite you to get real with them every week this October. No judgement here, ladies. We want to talk about the real stuff. We are all working, raising families, trying not to kill our husbands, and doing our damnedest to take care of ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic. The only thing we know for certain is that we can’t do it alone.
Join us for a judgement-free pandemic social club
Thursdays @ 7pm EST/4pm PST
Once a week we invite you to cozy up with us on zoom for some commiseration and inspiration. Pour a glass of whatever you’re drinking, and tell us about what’s going on in your home. We’ll share stories from ours too. From mundane stuff like diet fails and Amazon obsessions to big scary stuff like marriage conflicts and career woes, we will be opening with each other, and you.
Life in 2020 has presented challenges for all of us–to varying degrees, yes–but we’ve all experienced shifts in our lives that have invited new forms of anxiety and revealed weaknesses that were once hidden by the hustle of our busy routines and countless plans. This pandemic has shown light not only on cracks within the systems of our world with health and social justice but also the cracks within our personal lives–our intimate relationships, friendships, homes, and our habits. What we are experiencing is not normal. We are meant to crack under the pressure and uncertainty of what is happening. However, we were not meant to crack alone. We are craving connection more than ever before. And that’s what Covid Confidential aims to do.
When the pandemic hit, many of us suddenly reached out to the people who are most important to us, rekindling friendships with withered flames due to lack of time. For friends Claire, Kelle, and Tamara, a shared text thread that normally had a few “pings” a month promptly became a daily source of comfort–a pandemic lifeline where their friendship was strengthened and their worries, confessions and stories were honored with “me too”s and “It’s going to be okay”s. A few texts to check in on each other in March soon evolved to sharing memes, enlightening articles, our latest crazy pandemic purchases, beauty tips, books we’re reading, stories of losing it with our spouses and kids, and daily encouragement to each other to be the very best “us” we can be. We are champions of each other’s work and a safe judgment free place for each other’s stories. Our little pandemic text thread has become one of our favorite silver linings of 2020, and now we want to share it with you.
Let’s not do this alone.
