The First Official Write-Up

Remember last month when I expressed anxiety over having given my first interview? Well, the piece I was interviewed for just came out in the latest issue of BlackBook Magazine and I couldn’t be happier with it.
It looks great and I don’t come off nearly as scattered as I felt on the phone that day. However, it was extremely weird to open a magazine and have my daughter shout, “That’s you, Mama!”

Claire, I’ve told you this in private, but it bears repeating: I think this book is going to be your “Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius”. All those doors Dave Eggers walked through after that masterpiece came out? You’ll be crossing those very thresholds sooner than you can possibly imagine.
Enjoy every well-earned minute of what is surely to come, my dear — you completely deserve it!
